Set up in 1986, we are a registered charity that helps anyone who has been affected by cancer. We recognise that a diagnosis of cancer can have a far-reaching impact not just on the person with cancer but also on their family and friends.
The Group is run entirely on a voluntary basis which allows us to keep costs to a minimum and enables us to provide most of our services free of charge.
Members tell us that coming to the Group has helped to:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Raise energy levels
- Reduce feelings of isolation
- Create a sense of well-being
- Give them back a sense of control
- Improve quality of life
Where We Meet
We meet weekly, on Tuesdays from 7pm, in the Tynedale Patients’ Centre, Hexham General Hospital.
